Bloomington Man Dies of Injures Sustained in 10 Freeway Crash in Redlands

Donel Mangus, 83, lost control of his car on the 10 near University Avenue in Redlands about 8 p.m. Saturday Sept. 29 and it went down an embankment. Mangus died early Oct. 9 at Loma Linda University Medical Center, according to the coroner.

A Bloomington man died early Tuesday at Loma Linda University Medical Center, 11 days after he was injured in a crash on Interstate 10 in Redlands, according to the coroner.

Donel Mangus, 83, lost control of his car on the 10 near University Avenue in Redlands about 8 p.m. Saturday Sept. 29 and it went down an embankment, the coroner reported.

Mangus and his wife were transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where Mangus was treated for injuries he sustained in the crash, according to the coroner.

"Early Tuesday morning, October 9th, Mangus died in the operating room at 12:58 AM," the coroner reported.

The California Highway Patrol was investigating.
