Body Found in Wash Near Redlands Sports Complex and Mentone Reservoir

Deputies were called out about 10:40 a.m. Oct. 30 to a wash near Opal Avenue in Mentone, according to sheriff's and coroner's personnel.

The body of a man was found Tuesday morning in a wash hear Opal Avenue and San Bernardino Avenue in Mentone, and sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating.

Deputies were called out about 10:40 a.m. Oct. 30 to an area just east of the Redlands Sports Complex soccer fields and west of Mentone Reservoir, according to sheriff's and coroner's personnel.

It was not clear from investigators' accounts how the unidentified man died, how long he had been dead, and how he came to be in the wash.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the identity and cause of death, coroner's personnel said.
