BOOKING PHOTO RELEASED: Alleged Night Burglar on Hilltop Dr in Redlands

Neighbors in the hills of east Redlands have been talking about the reported night burglary, a helicopter and police search, and a suspect who was caught under a neighbor's pomegranate tree.

A booking photo was released Wednesday of a man accused of breaking into an occupied home in the hills of east Redlands late Monday Nov. 26.

Residents in a home in the 12000 block of Hilltop Drive were awakened by noises, saw a flashlight beam and called 911 shortly before midnight Monday, according to Redlands police.

"After calling police, the residents saw the burglar running out the back door," Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said in a statement.

Police searched the area with help from a San Bernardino County sheriff's helicopter crew and found a suspect hiding in bushes under a pomegranate tree near the victims' residence, residents told Redlands-Loma Linda Patch.

Robert Wayne Harris, 22, of Yucaipa, was arrested at 1:26 a.m. Tuesday in the 12700 block of Hilltop, according to Redlands police and inmate records.
