BOOKING PHOTO RELEASED: Man Accused of Sidewalk Killing in Redlands

Gilbert Phillip Moreno was arrested about 7:40 p.m. Oct. 20 in the 3300 block of North Mountain Avenue in San Bernardino, according to inmate records.

A booking photo was released Monday of a man accused of killing a Redlands resident who was found fatally injured on a sidewalk on Webster Street early Saturday Oct. 20.

Gilbert Phillip Moreno, 21, of Redlands, was arrested about 7:40 p.m. Oct. 20 in the 3300 block of North Mountain Avenue in San Bernardino, according to inmate records.

Moreno was held without bail Monday, on suspicion of murder and participating in a criminal street gang, at West Valley Detention Center, according to inmate records.

Moreno is accused of murder in the death of Christopher Mykel Sanchez, 21, of Redlands, who sustained unspecified upper body trauma before police found him fatally injured in the 1200 block of Webster Street about 4 a.m. Oct. 20, according to Redlands police and coroner's personnel.

Paramedics from the Redlands Fire Department responded and pronounced Sanchez dead at the scene at 4:24 a.m., according to the coroner.

Detectives and other police personnel remained at the scene on Webster Street more than 12 hours Saturday investigating the alleged crime.

As of Monday afternoon police had released no information about the motive or the cause or manner of Sanchez' death, other than to state they were investigating a homicide.

Anyone with more information was urged to call Detective Rob Williams at (909) 798-7688 or Redlands Police Dispatch at (909) 798-7681. Anonymous tips can be provided by texting 274637 using the keyword "REDTIP."

If you want to know what "sustainablity" is really about, come hear Rosa Koire at RedlandsRead More Townhall on May 23, 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall, 814 W. Colton Avenue. "Sustainability" is UN Agenda 21.

Usually I'd start with how teachers should be paid in line with their students grades, but for nowRead More I'll just suggest going to the .99 cent stores. You can get everything from 100 packs of #2 pencils to college ruled notebooks and binders, to pens and highlighters. We go there weekly and send boxes of school supplies, crayons and coloring books to our troops in Afghanistan to help them befriend the locals. The biggest score is cans of party string that usually go for $5. They spray it into a room and the streamers will hang on any tripwires without setting off the bomb. And try asking the store manager if corporate might be willing to throw in 2 for the price of one or a bakers dozen on highly stocked items if you can get several other teaches to also shop there. It never hurts to ask.
