Booking Photo Released of Redlands Serial Burglary Suspect

Redlands police say 23-year-old Amanda Jasmine Smith is connected to three area burglaries.

Redlands police released Tuesday the booking photo of an alleged serial burglar.

Amanda Jasmine Smith, 23, is suspected in three Redlands burglaries over the last month, police information officer Carl Baker said.

 when police stopped a car she was driving -- also reported stolen out of Santa Ana, according to Baker.

Police, through neighborhood contacts, identified the suspect as the burglar, Baker said.

Investigators also got hold of surveillance video implicating the suspect; the videos showed the suspect before and after one of the burglaries, he added.

When Smith was stopped, officers found a bag that had been stolen in one of the thefts, Baker said.

She was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and auto theft.

According to San Bernardino County jail records, the woman was released from jail Monday after being detained.  No court dates were immediately scheduled.
