Burglary Investigation Leads to Chop Shop Bust

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputies say their suspects in the burglary led them to a chop shop in Fontana.

An investigation into a burglary at a home in Grand Terrace ended with the arrest of seven people by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s.

Chad Simon, 23, Christopher Gregory, 26, Anthony Campana, 42, Daniel Gregory, 46, James Gregory, 45, Brian Ragone, 39, all from Fontana, and Jessica Baker, 21, of Riverside, were all taken into custody.

The investigation started with a burglary on July 11. Thieves broke into a Grand Terrace home and took about $2,500 in property. Video surveillance caught the break in and investigators say they identified Chad Simon and Christopher Gregory, both parolees. A third unidentified male, later identified by authorities as Brian Ragone, was seen on the video.

On July 14, deputies tracked Simon and Gregory to a commercial business in Fontana, officials said. Ragone was found at his home.

Anthony Campana was found hiding inside the business, which deputies learned was part of a chop shop run by Campana, officials said. The San Bernardino Auto Theft Task Force is working to track down leads on the auto parts. Deputies recovered some of the items taken in the Grand Terrace burglary inside the business, investigators said.

Jessica Baker, Daniel Gregory and James Gregory were arrested on suspicion of harboring a fugitive because they tried to help Simon and Gregory while they were trying to evade arrest, officials said.
