Deputies Target DUI Motorists Saturday Night in Loma Linda and Grand Terrace

A DUI Checkpoint/Saturation Patrol is scheduled 5 p.m. Dec. 29 to 1 a.m. Dec. 30 in the neighboring communities, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Drunken and drugged drivers will be the focus of an eight-hour operation Saturday night in Loma Linda and Grand Terrace, a sheriff's sergeant said in an announcement.

A DUI Checkpoint/Saturation Patrol targeting impaired drivers is scheduled 5 p.m. Dec. 29 to 1 a.m. Dec. 30 in the neighboring communities, according to the Sheriff's Department.

"All vehicles may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested," Sgt. Edward Finneran of the sheriff's Central Station said.

"Our objective is to send a clear message to those who are considering driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol and/or drugs – Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest."

DUI checkpoints and patrols in Loma Linda and Grand Terrace are funded by grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
