Woman Injured in Beaumont Domestic Violence, Man Arrested in San Bernardino

A domestic dispute was reported early Sunday in the 1300 block of Bird of Paradise Court in Beaumont, a spokeswoman for Beaumont police said. The girlfriend, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A Beaumont man was behind bars Monday on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend at a Beaumont residence early Sunday.

She was hospitalized for treatment of her injuries.

Alfredo Lopez, 32, allegedly fled to San Bernardino, where he eventually surrendered to San Bernardino police, a Beaumont spokeswoman said Monday.

Someone called 9-1-1 at 2:53 a.m. Sunday and reported a domestic dispute in the 1300 block of Bird of Paradise Court, just east of the Anna Hause Elementary School campus and Cherry Avenue, according to Beaumont spokeswoman Darci Mulvihill.

Police arrived and determined a male suspect, identified as Lopez, had assaulted his girlfriend and fled the scene, with a possible destination of a family member’s residence in the city of San Bernardino, Mulvihill said in a statement.

The girlfriend, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, Mulvihill said.

Beaumont police requested assistance from San Bernardino police, who responded to a home in the 3700 block of Big Canyon Court, between Waterman Avenue and Little Mountain Drive in north San Bernardino.

Police tried to make contact with Lopez, who initially refused to come out of the residence,  Mulvihill said.

Just before 9:28 a.m. Sunday, Lopez surrendered to police and was arrested, Mulvihill said.

Lopez was booked early Monday at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on the charges of spousal abuse and threatening to commit a crime which causes great bodily injury or death, according to Mulvihill and inmate records.

He was held without bail. He has a court appearance Wednesday in Banning.

An update on his girlfriend's condition was not available Monday.

Anyone with further information about the incident was urged to contact Beaumont police at (951) 769-8500.

Information can also be sent to crimetips@beaumontpd.org or reported anonymously to WeTip at 1-800-78-CRIME.

By knowing Fredo personally, I can honestly say he's is a good person with a big heart. Fredo is a everyday hero, an has served his country in more then one way! Only the one's involved can really know the truth & know whats really going on. An everyone needs to remember that everyone makes mistakes. NO ONE IS PERFECT. An yes he does need help, but I'm confident that Fredo will get that help an better himself from this situation. Alfredo you & your girlfriend are in mine & Nathans prayers. An I know you will be just fine. God will take care you guys!!! We love you!!!! Roxanne

God will take care of you? You are in my prayers??? I hope you don't have any daughters!!! I'm sure this woman knew him personally also..he hit her so hard and so often that he sent her to the hospital..oh well, I guess any "good person with a big heart" would have done that!!! What a gentle soul. I never wanted jury duty until now

This is out of control. I personally knew his gf and not Alfredo. If you are on the wrong you are on the wrong. What he did was not something a man of god or a "good guy would do". No one is passing judgements or condemning Alfredo here, everyone is saying what is right and what is wrong. No one should be condoning his actions or bad behavior because of serving our country or losing a child. People have terrible things happen all the time therefore you turn 2 god in ur time of need 4 comfort & understanding not beat your gf who is 10 times smaller than u & way less stronger than u as well. U deal w/ lifes problems & difficulties & guess what life goes on. God says you love your wife like Jesus loves his church....if that doesn't say a lot than what does. Family member or not u don't need 2 b in someone's shoes 2 know what happen or make excuses as its ok to beat the heck out of ur gf for things goin on in ur life. If a situation is so bad u can't handle it..guess what walk away or leave. Iv known people in wayyyy worse situations than there's & they got through it w/o abuse. No one really knows someone until things go down than its a totally different story. It starts w/ abuse than leads 2 worse things. No woman deserves to be struck by a man under any circumstances EVER!!!! society allows & excepts peoples bad behavior. There are consequences for your actions.

All I know is that we are not God, therefore judgement is not ours to give. What is between Fredo and gf is between the two and God only. However a mistake does not change who he is and the heart he has. According to God, we are to forgive 7x77 times and what happened here is not for everyone to speculate on.
