DUI Drivers Targeted in Loma Linda, GT

"All vehicles may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested," sheriff's Sgt. Edwin Preston.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in planning a DUI Checkpoint/Saturation patrol from 6 p.m. Sept. 1 to 2 a.m Sept. 2 in Loma Linda and Grand Terrace.

Locations were not disclosed in a Sheriff's Department news release.

"All vehicles may be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will be arrested," sheriff's Sgt. Edwin Preston said in the release.

"Our objective is to send a clear message to those who are considering driving a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol and/or drugs – Drunk Driving, Over the Limit, Under Arrest," Preston said. "The public is encouraged to help keep roadways safe by calling 911 if they see a suspected impaired driver."

Funding for the operation comes from the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
