Father Finds Daughter, 4, In Naked Man's Apartment

A 52-year-old Redlands resident is arrested on suspicion of child molestation and kidnapping after the girl's father found her and him naked in the suspect's home.

A 52-year-old Redlands man was arrested Monday evening after officials said he and a missing 4-year-old girl were found naked in his apartment.

Terence Giberson has been booked at West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of child molestation and kidnapping.

UPDATE:

About 7:30 p.m. Monday, the girl's father went looking for her in front of her apartment in the 900 block of Pine Avenue where she had been playing, said Carl Baker, spokesman with the Redlands Police Department. Unable to find the girl, the father searched the complex. He found the child nude, calling for him through Giberson's apartment window, Baker said.

When the father entered to apartment to get his daughter, police officials said the man also found Giberson naked. The father took his daughter home and called police.

Giberson locked himself in his home and refused surrender to police. About 30 minutes after police arrived, he voluntarily left his home, and had several superficial, self-inflicted cuts, Baker said. He was treated at Redlands Community Hospital before being taken to West Valley.

The girl was examined and did not have any physical injuries.

Anyone with information on this incident can contact Detective Cindy Gourlay or Detective Andy Capps at (909) 798-7659 or Redlands Police Dispatch at (909) 798-7681. Anonymous tips can texted to 274637 using the keyword “REDTIP.”

If you want to know what "sustainablity" is really about, come hear Rosa Koire at RedlandsRead More Townhall on May 23, 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall, 814 W. Colton Avenue. "Sustainability" is UN Agenda 21.

Usually I'd start with how teachers should be paid in line with their students grades, but for nowRead More I'll just suggest going to the .99 cent stores. You can get everything from 100 packs of #2 pencils to college ruled notebooks and binders, to pens and highlighters. We go there weekly and send boxes of school supplies, crayons and coloring books to our troops in Afghanistan to help them befriend the locals. The biggest score is cans of party string that usually go for $5. They spray it into a room and the streamers will hang on any tripwires without setting off the bomb. And try asking the store manager if corporate might be willing to throw in 2 for the price of one or a bakers dozen on highly stocked items if you can get several other teaches to also shop there. It never hurts to ask.
