Fire damaged a home and killed a resident's dog early Wednesday on Forest Court in Redlands, a city spokesman said.
The fire was reported about 2:25 a.m. in the 600 block of Forest, near Smiley Elementary, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said.
"It took 18 firefighters approximately 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control," Baker said in a statement.
The resident told authorities she came home and found her house on fire, Baker said. Her Cocker Spaniel was killed in the blaze. No other injuries were reported.
Damage to the structure and property inside was estimated at $100,000. The cause of the fire was being investigated.
