Fire Destroys Commercial Building

Redlands Fire crews battled the blaze that destroyed the building for about a half hour.

Redlands Fire investigators are looking into what sparked a blaze that destroyed an empty commercial building on West Stuart Avenue.

A motorist who spotted the rising smoke while traveling on Interstate 10 reported the fire just before 3 this morning, fire officials said.

Crews found what they described as an abandoned and empty building, in the 500 block of West Stuart Avenue, completely engulfed, fire officials said.

It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put out the flames. No one was injured during the firefight.
