CAL Fire Crews are battling a fire burning near Greenspot Road and Florida Street in Mentone.
As of 5:15 p.m., officials reported the 50-acre fire named the Florida Fire to be 30 percent contained.
Highway 38 is closed at Garnet Street because of the blaze, according to CHP. Firefighters are working in 100-degree heat. According to the National Weather Service, our area has a 20 percent chance of isolated rain showers.
