Ford Ranger Goes Off Valley of the Falls Drive Near SR 38, One is Hospitalized

The single-vehicle, over-the-side crash was reported about 12:30 p.m. below Forest Falls in Mill Creek Canyon near the junction with Highway 38, according to the California Highway Patrol and a fire captain at the scene.

A motorist was hospitalized with injuries sustained in an over-the-side crash Monday next to Valley of the Falls Drive in Mill Creek Canyon, according to a California Highway Patrol officer and a fire captain at the scene.

The single-vehicle crash was reported about 12:30 p.m. below Forest Falls near the Valley of the Falls junction with Highway 38, CHP Officer B. T. Smith said.

The motorist was driving down-canyon from Forest Falls toward the 38 and apparently lost control, Smith said.

The Ford Ranger went off the south side of the road, tumbled down the embankment and ended up near one edge of the boulder-strewn wash. There is brush along the edges of Mill Creek but the crash did not ignite a fire, Smith said.

Further information about the injured motorist was not immediately available.
