Freeway Shooting Injures One in Redlands

A 45-year-old man was shot while he was pulled over on the 210 Freeway, police officials said.

Redlands Police are investigating another freeway shooting that injured one man late Monday night.

The shooting occurred on the westbound 210 Freeway, just past San Bernardino Avenue. The report came in to the California Highway Patrol about 11 p.m., Redlands officials said.

The victim told police he had stopped his white Toyota pickup on the side of the freeway when another motorist approached him. A gunman fired at least one shot injuring the victim.

The victim, identified only as a 42-year-old man, was treated by Redlands Fire Department paramedics and taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition, police officials.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a maroon or dark red four-door 2010 Ford Focus or Chevrolet Cruze with a tinted rear window. The investigation is continuing.

On Sept. 15, a motorist was shot through his vehicle door and was struck in the leg as he traveled along Interstate 10. He managed to drive to a gas station at the California exit of Interstate 10, a Redlands Police official said.  

Police ask anyone with information on either shooting is asked to call Detective Rob Williams at (909) 798-7688, Detective Frank Rocha at (909) 798-7580 or Redlands Police Dispatch at (909) 798-7681. Anonymous tips can be submitted by texting 274637 using the keyword “REDTIP.”
