Gunman Robs Styling Salon

A brazen gunman who robbed a downtown Redlands styling salon in broad daylight is being sought by police.

Police said about 9:45 a.m. Monday, the gunman entered Shear Perfection, at 430 E. State St. He displayed a handgun and tried unsuccessfully to open the register, officials said.

Instead, investigators said the robber took an employee’s purse and left through the back door of the shop, through a parking lot and onto Citrus Avenue.

The robber is described as a black male in his 30s, more than 6-feet tall. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a black beanie over his face.
