Highland Man Killed in San Bernardino

A call of shots fired was received at 6:46 p.m. Sunday Sept. 30 in the 4000 block of Johnson Street, west of Electric Avenue and north of Kendall Drive, according to the coroner.

A Highland man was killed Sunday evening in San Bernardino north of Redlands and Loma Linda, the county coroner reported Monday.

A call of shots fired was received at 6:46 p.m. Sunday Sept. 30 in the 4000 block of Johnson Street, west of Electric Avenue and north of Kendall Drive, according to the coroner.

San Bernardino police responded and found Juan Rosales, 29, of Highland, "down with apparent upper body trauma," a coroner's statement said.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries by paramedics at approximately 6:53 PM," the statement said.

Detectives with the San Bernardino Police Department Homicide Detail were investigating. Anyone with information was urged to call (909) 384-5742.
