Illegal Immigration Operation Nets 14 Arrests in County

The nationwide Operation "Cross Check" targeted criminal aliens, including illegal re-entrants and those with prior convictions.

More than 3,100 immigration fugitives and criminal aliens – including 14 in San Bernardino County – were arrested last week as part of a nationwide effort by a Immigration and Customs Enforcement operation.

The results of Operation “Cross Check,” which were released by the agency Monday, included the arrests of 559 illegal re-entrants, 149 sexual predators and 1,063 persons with more than one conviction.

“The results of this targeted enforcement operation underscore ICE's ongoing commitment and focus on the arrest and removal of convicted criminal aliens and those that game our nation's immigration system,” said Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director John Morton.
