Loma Linda Man Accused of Car Burglary

Police say a 29-year-old Loma Linda man burglarized three cars including one in his own hometown.

A man on felony probation has been arrested in connection with a vehicle burglary that occurred more than a month ago.

On Dec. 8 the Central Station Gang Team arrested Francisco Alvarez, 29, of Loma Linda, on suspicion of vehicle burglary, Loma Linda Police said.

The burglary occurred on Oct. 17 in the 25200 block of Shepardson Drive in Loma Linda. Investigators said a flashlight was found inside the vehicle and it had fingerprints.

More than a month later, police said they matched those fingerprints to Alvarez who is currently on active felony probation. A search of his residence turned up items taken from the vehicle on Ohio Street and evidence that Alvarez was involved in two other vehicle burglaries, officials said.

Alvarez was booked at Central Detention Center and is being held without bail.
