Loma Linda Woman Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Found in Her Backyard

Deputies investigating a nearby domestic disturbance find more than they bargain for when making contact with a neighbor.

A Loma Linda woman was arrested Saturday after Sheriff's Deputies found a stolen vehicle in her backyard.

Officers were investigating a domestic disturbance at a nearby location when they contacted Jeannine Rodriguez, 26, according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. While being questioned, Rodriguez revealed that she was on probation for grand theft auto and part of the Sheriff's Weekender Work Release Program.

Deputies proceeded to search her residence, and found a car parked in the backyard. A records check on the vehicle found that it recently had been reported stolen from San Bernardino.

During their investigation, deputies learned that Rodriguez had driven the car home the previous night, and parked the car behind the residence in an effort to hide it with the intention of discarding it the next day.

Rodriguez was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and booked in the Central Detention Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to the news release.
