Los Angeles Woman Killed When Vehicle Strikes Pillar Next to I-10 in Redlands
The crash occurred about 8:49 a.m. Saturday July 28 on the eastbound 10 at Tennessee Street, the coroner reported.
A Los Angeles woman was fatally injured Saturday when the Dodge Durango she was driving crashed on Interstate 10 in Redlands, the coroner reported.
Mercilena Otero, 48, was driving east on the 10 about 8:49 a.m. July 28 when "she veered off the interstate onto the dirt shoulder and struck the cement pillar to the overpass" at Tennessee Street, a coroner's statement said.
Otero was pronounced deceased at the scene at 9:07 a.m., the statement said.

No other vehicles were involved. The California Highway Patrol was investigating.
