Man Accused of Stealing Truckload of Property from Highland Home

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department arrested on man in connection to the thefts, but three more people are sought.

A man was caught allegedly trying to haul off a truck-load of stolen property from a Highland residence this week, sheriff's officials report.

San Bernardino County sheriff's officials say they got a report of an "unfamiliar truck" in the area of the 7600 block of Kent Street around 4:44 a.m. Tuesday.

"The reporting party indicated an unfamiliar truck drove onto the property and loud noises could be heard," a sheriff's statement said.

Responding deputies got to the area just as a truck and a trailer was driving off.  When those inside the vehicle spotted deputies, three passengers ran into nearby bushes, but the driver was caught, according to the statement.

The driver, identified as 54-year-old Marshall Davis, was arrested on charges of possession of stolen property and residential burglary, officials said.

"Deputies were unable to locate the three suspects that ran," according to the statement.  "Deputies are in the process of identifying them."

According to the sheriff's department, the trailer-- which was stolen out of Garden Grove-- had been loaded up with items from the house Davis is accused of burglarizing.

"Investigation revealed the trailer attached to Davis' truck was loaded with property that had just been stolen from locked storage containers on the victim's property," the sheriff's department said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Highland Police Department (909) 425-9793.
