Man Killed in Camry Crash on Florida Near Greenspot Road, North Mentone

The area where the crash occurred is flanked by citrus groves, north of the Greenspot Market on State Route 38 and southeast of Highland.

A 21-year-old man died Friday in a single-vehicle crash on Florida near Greenspot Road in north Mentone, coroner's personnel reported.

The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. March 8 when Esteban Villanueva, a resident of San Bernardino, was driving a 1989 Toyota Camry west on Florida, west of Sapphire, and south of Seven Oaks Dam, according to coroner's personnel.

He apparently lost control of the Camry and drove into a ditch.

"Villanueva was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected," coroner's personnel said in a statement. "He was pronounced dead at the scene."

The California Highway Patrol was investigating the crash.
