The stabbing was reported about 9:30 p.m. Saturday Sept. 15 at a home in the 600 block of West Western Avenue, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said.

When police arrived "they found a 36-year-old male victim with multiple stab wounds," Baker said. "Redlands paramedics treated the victim who was transported to a local hospital where he is in stable condition and expected to recover."

Police set up a search perimeter outside the home and located the suspect minutes later, Baker said. He was identified as Anthony Arthur Urbano Jr., 38, of Redlands.

"Investigators say Urbano was at the party when he became involved in an argument with the victim," Baker said. "The argument turned physical and Urbano stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the residence."

Urbano was held behind bars Monday at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga, according to inmate records. His bail was listed at $1 million.
