Man Sustains Fatal Injuries at Scene of Shots Fired Call: Coroner

A man sustained fatal injuries at the scene of a 9-1-1 shots fired call on Saturday in Montclair, according to the coroner.

Montclair police responded to the 4300 block of Kingsley Street on Aug. 17, coroner's personnel said in a statement issued Sunday morning.

The law officers found a 46-year-old man with upper body trauma injuries.

"The man was confirmed dead of his injuries on scene," coroner's personnel said. "The name of the decedent will be released pending notification of the next of kin. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death."

Montclair police were investigating.
