Shooting Victim Dies at Loma Linda University Medical Center

San Bernardino police responded to a 'shots fired' call about 1:50 a.m. March 11 in the area of the 1100 block of North D.

A man found with gunshot wounds early Monday on North D Street was pronounced deceased at Loma Linda University Medical Center, coroner's personnel said in a statement.

San Bernardino police responded to a "shots fired" call about 1:50 a.m. March 11 in the area of the 1100 block of North D and found Harold Edward Sykes III, seated in a vehicle with gunshot wounds to the upper torso, according to coroner's personnel.

Sykes, 42, of San Bernardino was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 2:35 a.m., coroner's personnel said.
