Man + Woman Sought in Connection with Vehicle Break-Ins East of Redlands

Shawn Green, 34, and Sharilynn Castle, 27, both of Yucaipa, are suspects in 'a rash' of vehicle burglaries that began in early March, a sheriff's sergeant in Riverside County said.

Law enforcement east of Redlands are looking for a man and a woman suspected of several vehicle burglaries in Yucaipa and Calimesa.

A recent "rash" of vehicle break-ins began in early March in residential areas of both communities, with locked and unlocked vehicles burglarized,Sgt. Al Meservey of the sheriff's Cabazon Station said.

"Items stolen consisted of currency, wallets and purses, stereo equipment, banking and checking cards, and other miscellaneous items," Meservey said in a statement.

Around the end of March, a suspect began entering banks in Yucaipa and Calimesa, "where stolen and forged checks taken during several of these vehicle burglaries were passed," Meservey said. The transactions were caught on surveillance video.

Investigators identified Shawn Green, 34 of Yucaipa, as a suspect, Meservey said. They served a search warrant at his home in the 34000 block of County Line Road in Yucaipa on Thursday.

"During the service of this warrant, several stolen items taken in recent vehicle burglaries in Calimesa and Yucaipa were recovered from the residence," Meservey said. " . . . Green has been linked to 8-10 of the vehicle burglaries in both cities . . .  and has thus far eluded capture."

Investigators have identified a second suspect, Sharilynn Castle, 27, of Yucaipa.

"Castle is also wanted in connection with these vehicle burglaries and also has a felony warrant issued for her arrest related to possession of dangerous drugs," Meservey said.

Green is described as a white male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, with short blonde hair and blue eyes.

Castle is described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 155 pounds, with dyed black hair and hazel eyes.

Yucaipa is in San Bernardino County and Calimesa is in Riverside County.
