Police wrote more than 30 citations during recent checkpoint and traffic enforcement operations in Redlands, a  city spokesman said.

Three people were cited Friday night for driving without a proper license during a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Alabama Street in Redlands, according to police.

More than 750 vehicles passed through the checkpoint in the southbound lanes of
Alabama, south of Park Avenue, between 7 p.m. and midnight June 14, police spokesman Carl Baker said in a statement. No one was cited for driving under the influence.

Police also issued 28 citations during grant-funded traffic enforcement on Monday June 10, Baker said. The crackdown focused on downtown Redlands, Citrus Plaza, Orange Street at the Santa Ana River wash, and the area of Alessandro and Sunset.

Motorists were cited for violations including speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign or a red light, using a cell phone while driving, crossing the double-yellow line, failure to wear a seatbelt and driving on a suspended license, Baker said.
