Naked Attacker Remains Hopsitalized

One Colton family was reportedly confronted in front of their home by a naked man who physically attacked them.

By Tuesday, Colton Police had received dozens of calls from media across the country, said officer Todd Smith, spokesman for the department.

“We got them from as far away as New York,” he said.

But then it’s not every day that a city reports that a muscular man was wrestled and arrested by police after he attacked a couple while their 2-year-old son looked on, Smith said.

“It is bizarre,” he said.

The incident occurred Saturday about 11:30 p.m. The family had arrived home following a party when they saw the man in their front yard completely nude.

“The woman was driving as they pulled up,” Smith said. “The husband got out of the car to talk to the man. That’s when he was attacked.”

The assailant has been identified as 22-year-old Ruben Arzu by several media outlets. Officers said he began beating the man with his bare hands. The woman rushed into the home and called authorities, Smith said.

“When she walked out to check to see if police were there, the man attacked her,” Smith said.

The man resisted arrest, officials said. It took several officers to subdue him.

The couple was treated for head injuries and was released from the hospital, Smith said. Their attacker remains hospitalized, Smith said.

There have been several reports that he was likely under the influence of drugs. Smith they are still trying to determine exactly what caused the assailant to attack the couple.
