Naked Burglary Suspect Gets Unpleasant Surprise

A man who authorities say broke into a home and used the shower found himself face-to-face with armed sheriff's deputies.

Talk about being unable to make a clean getaway, the Los Angeles Times reports that a burglary suspect was arrested while naked in the bathroom of the Joshua Tree home he had broken into.

He was nude because he had just used the homeowner’s shower, according to the report.

San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies took Michael Calvert, 25, into custody at gunpoint about 8:15 p.m. The Sheriff’s, who patrol several areas of the county including Loma Linda, were called Thursday by the homeowner who heard someone in the bathroom upon returning to the home on Twentynine Palms Highway, according to the Times report.

Authorities also told the Times that Calvert helped himself to food, downed a bottle of champagne before he hit the shower. What reason did he give for for entering the home? His feet hurt, officials said.
