An Orange County girl was fatally injured in a crash Sunday morning on northbound Interstate 15 in the Barstow area, according to the coroner.
A "left rear tire separation" contributed to the crash, which occurred just after 9:20 a.m. Aug. 4 on the northbound 15 near Afton Canyon Road in rural Barstow, coroner's personnel said in a statement.
"The driver of the vehicle lost control and the vehicle rolled over at least one time," coroner's personnel said.
A rear-seat passenger identified as Kimberly Robles, 10, of Santa Ana, was pronounced dead at the scene, coroner's personnel said.
The California Highway Patrol was investigating.
