Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Redlands Sunday

The 51-year-old man was hit at Judson Street and Colton Avenue at 5:30 p.m.

A Redlands man was injured Sunday evening after being struck by a car while crossing the street.

The 51-year-old was hit in the area of Judson Street and Colton Avenue at 5:30 p.m. According to Public Information Officer Carl Baker, a 28-year-old Redlands man driving a 2002 Saturn came to a stop at Judson Street before going through the intersection. He told officers that the sun was in his eyes, and he was unable to see the man in the intersection. 

The driver was traveling between 5 and 10 mph when he struck the pedestrian, who hit the windshield. The car went about 30 feet before stopping, and the victim fell to the ground.

The man was treated by paramedics on the scene, and transported to the hospital with a broken leg and moderate injuries to his arms and head.

Redlands Police is continuing to investigate the incident.
