Police Hunt for a Robber Who Shot His Victim

The armed gunman who robbed a Dairy Queen may be the same man who has robbed two other local businesses.

An armed gunman who robbed an ice cream parlor on Wednesday escalated his violent crime when he shot one of the employees in the leg.

The gunman is still at-large and may the same man who has robbed at least two other businesses in the area, Redlands Police officials said. They are asking the public’s help in finding him.

Investigators said the robber walked into the Dairy Queen at 664 E. Redlands Blvd. just before 3:45 p.m.

He had employees to open the register and grabbed the cash, officials said. The gunman then forced the group to the back of the business where he shot the woman in the leg. The robber then ran out the back door, officials said.

The woman was taken to a hospital, police officials said. Her condition was unknown.

The robber is described as a black male in his 30s, between 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-4 and about 200 pounds.

He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gloves and a bandana over his face.

He may the same man who held up Shear Perfection beauty salon, on E. State Street on March 14 and Stell Coffee & Tea on Barton Road on March 7, police officials said.
