The Redlands Police Department will conduct a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint from 10 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday.
The checkpoint will be held in the westbound lanes of Brookside Avenue, between Eureka and Center streets, police officials said.
The DUI checkpoint's are effective tools in reducing the number of alcohol related deaths and injuries, officials said. Research shows that crashes involving alcohol drop by an average of 20 percent when well-publicized checkpoints are conducted frequently enough, officials said.
Police encourage anyone who spots a drunk driver on the road to call 9-1-1
