Police Search for Armed Robber

Highland Police ask anyone with information on the News Year's Day robbery of a gas station to come forward.

Highland Police are searching for a robber who held up a Valero Gas Station on New Year’s Day.

Officers said the man walked into the Valero about 4 a.m. Sunday, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk.

He got away on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, officials said.

Officers searching the area spotted a man who matched their suspect's description near the Shell Gas Station on Baseline Street, officials said. This subject ran from deputies into a residential area, dropping the handgun that officers said might have been used in the Valero robbery.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call Deputy Shannon Deasey or the Highland Sheriff's Station at 909-425-9793. Those wishing to remain anonymous may call We Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME.
