Redlands Bank Robbed by Violent Gunmen

The robbers, dubbed Greenhorn Bandits, hit the Community Bank and at least two other banks in San Dimas and Diamond Bar.

Two armed men, who authorities said violently robbed two banks in Los Angeles County, hit a Redlands bank on Thursday.

The FBI has dubbed the three men seen participating in the robberies as the Greenhorn Bandits because witnesses say they seems clumsy and inexperienced, officials said.

Only two bandits walked into the Community Bank at 200 E. Citrus Ave. at 10:30 a.m., according to a Redlands Police news release.

The FBI has also linked the Greenhorn Bandits to the May 23 robbery of a Cal Bank & Trust at 530 W. Bonita Ave. in San Dimas and the May 16 robbery of the Cal Bank & Trust at 1200 S. Diamond Bar Blvd. in Diamond Bar.

In both of those, FBI officials said the bandits used handguns. Witnesses reported they were ordered to get on the ground and put their hands up while the suspects demanded or grabbed for cash, according to an FBI news release.

An additional suspect was seen driving from one of the banks in a silver or light-colored Dodge Avenger, officials said. In another robbery, the men were seen leaving in a silver or light-colored Chevy Colorado truck.

The suspects in the Redlands robbery were described as black males in their early 20’s, between 5-feet-7 and 6-feet.

The FBI describes the bandits as either black or Hispanic, aged 25 to 33 and between 5-foot-8 and 6-feet. On video surveillance the robbers are wearing bandanas and hooded sweatshirts, FBI officials said.

The men are considered armed and dangerous.
