About 10:30 p.m. Sept. 24, olunteers in a Citizens Patrol vehicle equipped with an automatic license plate reader received an alert of a stolen vehicle in the area of Loma Linda University Children's Hospital, sheriff's Service Specialist Sylvia Beasley said in a statement.

Deputies confirmed the vehicle, a 2008 Nissan Altima, was stolen from Cathedral City, and they did a felony traffic stop, Beasley said.

"While searching the stolen vehicle, deputies located ammunition and a social security card which had been reported stolen from a victim in the City of Oceanside," Beasley said.
