The fire was reported at 2:20 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Finch Avenue in Redlands, a city spokesman said.

Redlands and Mentone firefighters contained a garage fire Sunday on Finch Avenue and one firefighter was injured, a city spokesman said Monday.

The fire was reported at 2:20 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Finch, next to a grove west of Dearborn Street, according to Redlands spokesman Carl Baker.

"The first arriving unit found a vehicle well involved with fire in the attached garage of a residential duplex," Baker said in a statement. "Residents and neighbors were attempting to extinguish the fire using garden hoses. The fire was extinguished by firefighters in 15 minutes."

The vehicle in the garage was destroyed and the garage sustained moderate damage, Baker said. Total damage was estimated at $20,000.
