Redlands PD Arrest 4 Burglary Suspects

San Bernardino residents Anthony Allen Butler, 19, Revy Tyree Bland, 22, and two male juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were arrested Thursday May 10 on Greenspot Road, a police spokesman announced Tuesday.

Four suspects from San Bernardino were arrested Thursday by Redlands police on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property, a spokesman for the department announced Tuesday.

Police were alerted to the suspects when they responded about 10:30 a.m May 10 to the 1300 block of Grove Street, where a homeowner "reported frightening off a group of men who first knocked at his front door before going to the back yard and attempting to break into his home," Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said in a statement.

The homeowner gave police descriptions of the suspects and a two-door black sedan seen leaving the neighborhood, Baker said.

A Redlands police lieutenant and sergeant heard the call, and they began checking exit routes from Redlands, Baker said. They spotted the suspects and their vehicle on Greenspot Road heading toward Highland and stopped them, Baker said.

"While police were investigating, a report came in of another residential burglary in the 1100 block of Lincoln Street," Baker said. "A search of the suspect vehicle yielded property stolen during that burglary."

Police on Greenspot arrested Anthony Allen Butler, 19, Revy Tyree Bland, 22, and two male juveniles, ages 16 and 17, all from San Bernardino, Baker said.

Butler and Bland were booked at Central Detention Center in San Bernardino, and the juveniles were taken to Juvenile Hall, according to Baker and inmate records.

"All four were charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of stolen property," Baker said.

Redlands police detectives believe the suspects could be responsible for at least six other burglaries in Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, Yucaipa, Highland, Colton and Fontana, according to Baker. They are currently working with neighboring Inland Empire law enforcement agencies.

"Investigators say in many of the burglaries two of the suspects would knock loudly several times on the front door of a residence," Baker said. "If there was no answer, three of the suspects would enter the back yard and force entry or enter an unsecured door or window. The driver stayed in the vehicle and acted as a lookout. The burglars targeted specific items, mainly electronics and jewelry."

Baker urged residents to contact the Redlands Police Department to report suspicious subjects or vehicles in their neighborhoods.
