Redlands Police Arrest Two Suspected DUI Drivers This Weekend

According to police, the first arrest was made at a scheduled checkpoint, while the second was done through a saturation patrol.

A total of two people were arrested at special DUI operations held this weekend in Redlands, police said Monday.

According to Redlands Police Spokesman Carl Baker, one person was arrested on suspicion of DUI after they tried to pass through a checkpoint held Friday on Redlands Boulevard   A second suspected DUI driver was nabbed on Saturday, during a saturation patrol.

At Friday's checkpoint, a total of 392 vehicles passed through.  Of those drivers, three people were ticketed for driving without a license, in addition to the DUI arrest that was made, according to Baker.

Another checkpoint is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

Funding for these operations is provided via state and federal grants, according to Baker.
