Redlands Police Honored for His Good Fellowship

Officer Dominick Povero was named Officer of the Year by the International Footprint Association Chapter 67.

The International Footprint Association Chapter 67 has named Redlands Police Officer Dominick Povero Officer of the Year Award.

Povero was honored on May 10 at the Law Enforcement Appreciation Blue Ribbon Breakfast at the National Orange Show in San Bernardino. He has been with the Redlands Police Department in October 2005.

In 2010, he worked in the department’s Investigative Services Bureau where officials said he was regarded as a highly competent investigator, taking the lead in many complex investigations.

He has worked as an advisor and mentor to the department’s Explorer Post, organizing a local competition that provided Redlands Police Explorers with realistic patrol experiences, Police officials said.

The Redlands Police Explorers have since competed successfully in state and regional competitions, earning numerous awards, officials said.

The International Footprint Association was founded in 1929 to establish cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the businesses and communities they serve. The association encourages good fellowships, mutual respect, and helpfulness among its members and promotes the true spirit of Americanism, according to a Redlands Police news release.
