Redlands Police Search for Bank Robber

Gunman hit a Bank of California early Thursday.

Redlands Police are searching for an armed man who robbed a Bank of California early Thursday.

The gunman entered the bank at 201 E. State St. about 9 a.m. He approached the bank manager, showed a handgun tucked in his waistband and demanded money from the tellers, according Redlands Police news release.

The robber fled on State Street, then ran onto Sixth Street and into the north parking lot of the bank where he got into a 2005-2008 metallic dark, candy apple red Mustang Coupe with a rear spoiler and a white sport tape strip on the lower body of the vehicle, officials said. The car drove through an alley before exiting onto Redlands Boulevard, officials said.

The robber is described as a white male, 55- to 60-years-old, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3, 230-250 pounds, with blond or gray hair. He was last seen wearing a tan baseball cap, light green short-sleeve, button-down shirt and tan or khaki pants, officials said.
