Redlands Shelter Honors Major Supporter

Redlands Police Department's Animal Control Division unveiled a plaque today in Bell's honor for her "selfless dedication."

The Redlands Police Department’s Animal Control Division honored shelter supporter Caroline Bell whose recent donation has allowed the agency to keep an employee that might have otherwise been cut.

Officials unveiled a plaque today in Bell’s honor for her “selfless dedication” to the shelter. She and her husband Tom Bell donated $75,000. The donation makes it possible for the shelter to retain a position for a year, said Redlands Police Chief Mark Garcia.

The couple are regular supporters of the shelter. Tom Bell, who owns several car dealerships in Redlands and the region, also pledged a $20 donation for every car sold through the end of the year to local animal shelters, including the Redlands shelter, Shelter officials said.
