Redlands Teacher Sex: Plea Deal Means One Year in County Jail, Attorney Says

Laura Elizabeth Whitehurst, 28, of Redlands appeared in San Bernardino Superior Court to sign a plea deal Wednesday.

A Redlands high school teacher who is accused of 41 sex felonies in connection with alleged relations she had with three former students, including one she conceived a baby with, appeared in a San Bernardino courtroom Wednesday, to sign a plea deal.

Whitehurst's defense attorney, James R. Gass of Redlands, told Patch this plea deal means the woman will have to serve one year in county jail.
