San Bernardino County Agency Reports of Major Earthquake in Mexico

The quake hit at 11:02 a.m.

San Bernardino City Unified School District Emergency Operations Center is reporting that a magnitude 7.6 Earthquake struck at 11:02 this morning 15 miles east of Ometepec in Guerrero state, Mexico, near the Pacific Coast resort of Acapulco.

At 11:22 and 11:35 a.m. aftershocks measuring 5.3 and 5.1, respectively, also struck the area.

So far no major damage or deaths have been reported although aftershocks continue, according to the report.
