Officials Investigate Death of Inmate at San Bernardino County Jail

A 22-year-old inmate was found dead in in his cell.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Continue to investigate the recent death of a inmate.

Cezar Raygoza, 22, of Fontana, was found by Sheriff’s officials at 4:29 p.m. on Saturday dead in his cell.

Raygoza was being housed in a single-cell housing unit at the time.  Deputies had been checking in on him when they found him unresponsive and without a pulse, sheriff’s officials said.

Deputies performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took over, officials said. Raygoza was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana where he died at 8:11 p.m.

Sheriff’s Homicide will investigate the death investigation. But officials said the death does not appear to be suspicious. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
