SB County Museum Hosts Largest Drill Ever for Shakeout
The Redlands-based museum is one of hundreds to participate in the statewide effort.
San Bernardino County Museum will host a day of special events as part of the Great California Shakeout, featuring the largest earthquake drill ever, organized to inspire Californians to get ready for big earthquakes and to prevent disasters from becoming catastrophes.
Events begin at 10:30 a.m. Participants who register at www.ShakeOut.org/register and pledge participation in the preparedness event will receive information on how to prepare for a major earthquake in the region, museum officials said.
The Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. It is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $8 for adults, $6 for military or seniors, $5 for students, and $4 child aged 5 to 12. Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free.

On Thursday, admission is free for everyone from 9 a.m. to noon. Parking is free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. If assistive listening devices or other auxiliary aids are needed in order to participate in museum exhibits or programs, requests should be made through Museum Visitor Services at least three business days prior to your visit.
