Senior Driver Plows into Building

A woman was injured after a 71-year-old driver mistakenly crashed into her building.

A 22-year-old woman inside a medical treatment facility was injured today when a vehicle driven by a 71-year-old plowed into her building.

Highland Police, which also patrol Loma Linda, said the unnamed victim had been inside the Beaver Medical Group facility on Boulder Avenue in Highland about 1:45 p.m.

Betty Markey, 71, and her passenger, Vivian Davidge, 83, were approaching a parking space just outside the building in a mid-size SUV at that time. Officers said Markey intended to hit the brake pedal but instead hit the gas.
