Sheriff's Dept: Man Arrested After Pointing Gun in Person's Face, Firing Shot in Air

A 22-year-old Highland man facing assault with a deadly weapon charges was free on bail Tuesday, police and records indicated.

Steven Bishop was arrested Friday at his Highland residence in connection to a threat he allegedly made against someone in the 7000 block of Fairwood Court, according to a statement released Tuesday by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

"Witnesses reported Bishop pulled a gun out of his pocket and pointed it at the victim," the agency said.  "Bishop fired a single round into the air before driving away."

When deputies caught up with Bishop, they found the gun believed to be used in the threat, according to the sheriff's department.

The man was taken to jail, but released on bail, according to San Bernardino County records.
