Update 4:12 p.m. A fire on Auburn Court in east Redlands damaged a two-story home Thursday afternoon, a city spokesman said.
Firefighters and paramedics from Redlands and Mentone responded about 1:40 p.m. Aug. 2 to the 300 block of Auburn, where neighbors reported smoke coming from the roof of the home, Redlands spokesman Carl Baker said.
Crews contained the fire to the attic, cut holes in the roof, and had it knocked down within a half hour, Baker said.
No injuries were reported.
"No one was home at the time of the fire," Baker said. "The cause is under investigation but the fire originated near an attic fan and investigators suspect the cause was electrical."
Damage was estimated between $80,000 and $90,000.
Posted 2:12 p.m. A structure fire was reported Thursday afternoon in the 200 block of Auburn Court in Redlands, east of Dearborn Street.
Severakl engine crews were on scene, according to Redlands Fire communications.
